Marty, Ziggy & I decided to take a Sunday drive. We have been housebound for the past few weeks due to the unbearable heatwave we have been dealing with. We have been in the high 90’s or triple digits every day for three weeks now. It’s the kind of heat that takes your breath away when you walk outside of your house.
Marty suggested that we drive up State Route 88 through Diamond Valley and through Woodfords, CA, which is about an hour and a half round trip from our house. I had never been on that route before, but it is one that he loves to take when he takes his Harley out for a ride. A drive on his Harley is all it takes for him to relieve stress and gives him a much needed head change.
It was such a beautiful day…Other than the overwhelming heat outside of our air conditioned car. S.R. 88 runs right along the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and its amazing landscape is absolutely breathtaking. As I look up, I am truly awed by the beauty of the snow capped Sierras. Just over their peaks on the other side is Lake Tahoe.
I am once again reminded of just how lucky I am to live in such a fabulous place!
I hope you enjoy the drive with us!
