“Some People Fly”

A friend of mine who happens to be a fellow blogger and GREAT Inspiration got me to thinking about the miracle that I am. I say this not from a selfish or narcissistic part of my psyche, rather from a very empathetic, warm, compassionate part of me…my soul.

There are many in the world whom have not endured the trials & tribulations that I have gone through in my life…some from outside forces, most however, from within myself.

I have “walked through the fire” which  burned away things that I once believed and from the ashes has risen the miracle that is me.

Every moment of every day that I am given, is another reason to be grateful. Each of these moments afford me the opportunity to show the love I now feel and to share my love for life.

Where I was once narrow-minded and paranoid (sure that the world was out to get me), I am today, an avid listener.  I am in awe of the incredible imaginations and ideas that spring from the minds of others. I have learned so much just from listening with an open mind (and closed mouth!)

I am willing to serve those in need with selfless humility rather than selfish pride. The greatest gift in this for me is the feeling of peace I have when I give with no expectations or conditions.

The freedom that comes with true Empathy,  Love and  Compassion has liberated my soul and altered my reality.  With this Freedom I find endless opportunities. Today, I may face a challenge or two, but I know that I will learn and grow from the experience. I am a miracle!

Having shared that with you, I would like to provide the exclamation point for this post in good “Heavy Metal” Chick fashion. This is a beautiful song that is on an album that was released during one of the most difficult times of my life. This song and the other great tunes on the album was my salvation. It literally saved my life. Music has always been a loyal and trusted friend….Thank you Geoff Tate for this one and many more you have written…Thank you!

“Some People Fly”

“Used to be a time we held the world
Wrapped it ’round our fingertips
Laughing at what others missed
Someday, yesterday
The magic we felt went away
“Grow up,” somebody said
Tell me where it’s gone
So I can go find it now

I can’t live your way
Go ahead without me
I’ll find my own way

Some people fly
And some of us worry
About touching the sun with wings
I know if I try
I’ll get where I’m going
Keeping my eyes on the sky

The box you live within is strong
And it’s up to you to see beyond
The comfort zone you’ve grown to love
There’s more to life than that
The expectations that you hold

Will keep you down and make you old
If you can’t see what I’m trying to say
Maybe you just need
To wear my shoes for a while

I can’t live your way
Go ahead without me
I’ll find my own way

Some people fly
And some of us worry
I’d risk it all to have wings
I know if I try
I’ll get where I’m going
Keeping my eyes on the sky

While you sit there and think about it
There’s another unfolding their wings
I can tell you what it’s like
But, until you try
You’ll never see what I mean

Some people fly
And some of us worry
I’ll touch the sky with my wings
I know if I try
I’ll get where I’m going
Keeping my eyes on the sky
Keeping my eyes
Keeping my eyes on the sky”

    1. That’s because you are not supposed to remember them, you’re supposed to create them..and you have done that…(you will be on your boat sailing off to wherever your dreams may lead very soon!)
